Kisspeptin-54 (metastin) is the 54-residue, C-terminally amidated peptide cleaved from the KISS1 precursor (UniProt Q15726 residues 68-121). It was isolated from human placenta in 2001 as an endogenous ligand of the orphan receptor GPR54, now KISS1R. Shorter kisspeptins (14, 13 and 10 residues) share its C-terminal RF-amide. This is a reference record; kisspeptin-10 is its C-terminal fragment.

54 residues. Each residue counts in one class; F and W count as aromatic.
Loads the 3D viewer (3Dmol.js, about 150 KB) and the model file from AlphaFold DB (EMBL-EBI).
An ideal alpha-helix projection. It shows where the hydrophobic residues fall if the peptide folds as a helix. It does not show that it does.
Eisenberg consensus (normalized) scale · + K, R · − D, E
Assumes an ideal α-helix: 100° per residue, 3.6 residues per turn. The arrow is the mean hydrophobic moment (Eisenberg et al. 1984) and points at the hydrophobic face.
