Terms of Service

Last updated:

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of pepbank.io, the PepBank API, the PepBank MCP server and related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Mira Labs LLC ("PepBank", "we", "us" or "our").

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you create an account or an API key, you also confirm that you agree. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you can accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.

2. The Service

PepBank is a free peptide guide and research database. The Service includes the website, AI chat on the website, a REST API that you use with an API key, and an MCP server that lets AI apps use PepBank tools.

The Service is free. Usage limits apply and are listed on our pricing page and developer page. If we offer a paid plan in the future, we will show its price and terms before we charge you.

We may correct data, change features, tools or limits, or pause or end any part of the Service at any time. We do not promise that the Service will always be available or free of errors.

3. Not medical advice

PepBank provides research information only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and using it does not create a relationship with a doctor or other health professional.

A dose in a study result is the dose that the study used. It is not a recommendation for you. Results from animal or cell studies do not show that a peptide is safe or effective in people. Community reports describe what people say they did and do not prove safety or benefit.

AI answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check the cited sources before you rely on an answer. An evidence grade or a trial listing does not mean that a product is approved, safe or right for you.

Talk to a qualified health professional before you make decisions about your health. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

4. Accounts and API keys

You can use most of the Service without an account. An account gives you API keys and higher limits.

Give accurate information when you create an account, and keep access to your sign-in email secure. Do not claim a researcher status that you do not hold. You are responsible for activity under your account and your API keys.

Keep your API keys secret. Do not put them in public code, shared chats or apps that other people can inspect. If a key is exposed, revoke it on your account page. If you think someone used your account without permission, contact us at info@pepbank.io.

You can delete your account on your account page. Our Privacy Policy explains what we delete and what we keep.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful
  • overload, attack or try to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data
  • get around usage limits, for example with extra accounts, keys or IP addresses
  • share your API keys or let others use them
  • scrape website pages for data instead of using the API or the MCP server
  • impersonate another person or organization
  • submit unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful or sexually exploitative content
  • suggest that PepBank endorses you, your product or your service

If a request is refused because of a limit, wait before you try again. We may slow, limit or block access that harms the Service or breaks these Terms. If you need more capacity than the published limits, contact us first.

6. Your content

Your content means the chat messages and other material that you submit to the Service. You keep any rights you have in your content, and you should submit only content that you have the right to use.

You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content as needed to provide the Service to you, including through the service providers named in our Privacy Policy. This does not make private content public.

Chats are private unless you share them. Anyone with a shared chat link can read that chat. If you stop sharing it, we cannot remove copies that others already made.

Do not submit medical records, payment card details or other sensitive personal information. We may remove content or disable a shared link that breaks these Terms.

7. PepBank data and attribution

PepBank's own data, including our database, curated records and the findings we extract from studies, is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt it, including for commercial use, as long as you follow the license.

When you use PepBank data, include the credit "Data from PepBank" with a link to the relevant PepBank page (or to pepbank.io), link to the CC BY 4.0 license, and say if you changed the data.

Some content has other rights. Article abstracts and quotes keep the rights of the source article. Some values come from ChEMBL under CC BY-SA 3.0, and trial records come from ClinicalTrials.gov. Check each record's rights information and our open data page before you reuse that content.

These Terms do not reduce your rights under a data license, and a license you continue to follow stays in effect if your access to the Service ends. The data license does not cover our code, name or logo. You may use the PepBank name to give accurate credit.

8. AI apps

You can use PepBank through AI apps that connect to our MCP server or API. Those apps are run by their own providers, and their terms and privacy policies apply. We do not control what an app does with PepBank results.

If you connect an AI app to your PepBank account, you approve the access shown at that time. You can disconnect the app in the app itself, and on your account page where we offer it. Disconnecting stops future access but does not remove data the app already received. Deleting data on PepBank does not delete copies held by an AI app.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Changes take effect when we post them here with a new "Last updated" date. Before a material change takes effect, we will post a notice on the site and email account holders. Changes apply only to use after they take effect. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your account and revoke your API keys on your account page.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, harm the Service, create a security risk or if the law requires it. This can include revoking your keys or closing your account.

Sections 3, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 continue to apply after your access ends.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that data, citations or AI answers are complete, accurate or current. Studies can contain errors, and sources can correct or retract their findings.

To the extent permitted by law, Mira Labs LLC and its officers, employees and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mira Labs LLC and its officers, employees and affiliates from claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or the rights of others.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before starting arbitration, you and we agree to contact each other and try to resolve the dispute informally. If it is not resolved within 60 days, either side may start binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (adr.org). Hearings take place by video or phone unless the arbitrator decides that an in-person hearing is necessary. Either side may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court.

You and we may bring claims only on an individual basis, not as part of a class, consolidated or representative action. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.

14. General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right, we do not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent.
