Oxyntomodulin is a 37-residue peptide cleaved from human pro-glucagon (UniProt P01275, residues 53-89). It contains the full glucagon sequence (residues 53-81) followed by the octapeptide KRNRNNIA. It is described as a dual agonist at the GLP-1 receptor and the glucagon receptor, and KEGG classes mazdutide as an oxyntomodulin analog. It is not an approved medicine; it has been given by infusion in phase 1 mechanistic studies.
