FDA's briefing document of 2024-12-04 relays an anecdotal, unpublished report of a ConjuChem phase 2 trial in HIV lipodystrophy: 192 subjects were enrolled; after the 11th weekly dose one subject had chest discomfort, an acute myocardial infarction was confirmed and the subject died; the attending physician's most likely explanation was asymptomatic coronary artery disease with plaque rupture and occlusion; the study was terminated and its data were not published. The briefing does not name the trial, and its participant number (192) differs from the registry (120), so the link to NCT00267527 is not confirmed. Reported by FDA, not confirmed in a study.
