Studies that did not test the peptide alone1

In this study, AICAR (acadesine) was a lab tool or a carrier, part of a mix, or the subject of a lab method. These results are not evidence about taking AICAR (acadesine).

    Summary
To gain a better understanding of these mechanisms, we analysed the conditioned media obtained after treating the C2C12 myotubes with an AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activator (AICAR; 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide ribonucleotide), which leads to an increased expression of UCP1 when added to brown adipocytes.
